Advanced Valve and Instrument, Inc.

Project 24.1

Our guys at Advanced Valve & Instrument have been busy this year with several large projects! We wanted to take the time and opportunity to share with you a few of them as it will help you see the value of working with our team to select the correct valve for your project. At AVI we want to sell you a solution that works best for you, saving you money in the long run.

The projects we plan to highlight on LinkedIn and on our blog are as follows:

  • Project 24.1
  • Project 24.2
  • Project 24.3

Project 24.1

Project 24.1 started with a call from a chemical plant asking us to bid on a new plant. Upon reviewing the valves specified on their list, we had a few concerns that some of the valve types were misapplied. In a video conference with the engineering team, this potential customer wondered why we were questioning their valve selections.  We took them through our concerns and let them know that unlike many companies who just quote whatever is specified, we try to read through the details and bring potential problems to their attention, before the valves are purchased and installed.

They left the meeting somewhat tentative, but when they called us back two weeks later, they said our recommendations were “spot-on” and that they “have every confidence that the valves AVI recommended were better options than those specified.”

We often will ask a potential customer this question: What type of vendor does your company deserve?   Do you deserve a partner who will dig into the application details and ask challenging and thoughtful questions OR do you just want a vendor who will quote what’s on the paper?   There are dozens of valve companies out there who promote that “They Sell Solutions”, but if they aren’t asking questions, they’re just selling you a problem and likely buying once for themselves.
